Racquel Battle was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up around her older sibling Timothy Battle Jr. Being around her older brother Racquel constantly was pushed into sports. She became more interested as she saw Timothy change season to season with a new found glory for the next sport. Soon Racquel found a love for all sports as she herself played softball, cheered, and even played a little neighborhood basketball at times. Growing up around it she had no choice but to learn the game backward and forward.
As Racquel grew older she also found a love for all entertainment. Racquel became involved in the broadcasting industry in 2005 as she interned with the likes of DJ Nabs and Stix Malone at Atlanta’s own Radio One station HOT 107.9. She was intrigued by the outreach to listeners and how being in broadcasting can influence the actions of others. From that point on Racquel set out for her career in Sports and Entertainment broadcasting. She attended GA State University and majored in Communications. Racquel then pursued a Sports Broadcasting certificate and graduated from COMPLETE GAME BROADCASTING on June 19, 2009. Since, Racquel has appeared as co-host of 790theZone’s “3D AFTER DARK” with Dennis Scott, interned with the “2LiveStews” with Ryan and Doug Stewart, covered the Bailey Brothers Football Camp (Champ Bailey of the Denver Broncos), Atlanta Falcons 2009 Russell Athletic Training Camp, SIAC 2009 Pre-Season luncheon, also various GA State basketball games, and even the newly established Georgia State Football Program.
Racquel has not only beauty and brains, she has experience and knowledge of all subjects sports and entertainment. Racquel brings diversity and a light of energy and personality into sports journalism. Most contribute her success to her faith in the Lord, her drive for perfection, as well as her focus to stay on track.
